Hytale server setup
Hytale is the sandbox-RPG hybrid from Hypixel Studios. This guide walks you through picking a plan, deploying your instance in under 60 seconds, and getting your friends connected.
Our Hytale instances run on the same Ryzen 9 + NVMe Gen4 hardware as our Minecraft fleet, with a Pterodactyl-based Game Panel that's identical to what you'd use for Minecraft. If you've ever hosted a Minecraft server with us, you already know the workflow.
Picking a plan
The Hytale configurator walks you through it, but if you already know what you need, the lineup is:
- Explorer — 4 GB RAM, 2 vCores, 40 GB NVMe. Good for a small private world (4–8 friends).
- Adventurer — 8 GB, 3 vCores, 80 GB. The sweet spot for most groups.
- Veteran — 12 GB, 4 vCores, 120 GB. Bigger communities or heavily-modded play.
- Legend — 16 GB, 4 vCores, 160 GB. Server-side scripting, custom game modes.
- Mythic — 20 GB, 6 vCores, 200 GB. Public-ish servers with steady traffic.
- Divine — 24 GB, 8 vCores, 250 GB. Network nodes, public hubs, large minigame servers.
Unsure? Start one tier above your gut estimate — Hytale's modding API allows custom prefabs and entities that will eat RAM. You can downgrade at any time (see Upgrading or downgrading).
Placing the order
- Open billing.pulsarservers.com and sign in (or create an account).
- Navigate to Store → Hytale.
- Click the plan you want.
- Choose a billing cycle. Quarterly knocks 10%, yearly knocks 20%.
- Pick a datacenter — Falkenstein (DE), Helsinki (FI), or Warsaw (PL). Pick the one closest to your player base for the lowest ping.
- Optionally enter a server hostname (you can change it later).
- Check out with your preferred payment method — see Payment methods.
What happens after checkout
Your server provisions automatically in under 60 seconds. You'll receive a welcome email containing:
- Your Game Panel credentials at panel.pulsarservers.com.
- The server's connection address (host + port) — already live, ready for first start.
- A link to your billing area for invoices, upgrades and cancellation.
First start
The Hytale panel mirrors the Minecraft one — same console, files, schedules, subusers. To boot:
- Open the Game Panel and pick your server.
- If a config wizard appears (gamemode, world seed, max players), fill it in. You can skip everything and edit later.
- Press Start. The console will stream worldgen output.
- When you see
Server ready, the connection address shown on the dashboard is live and accepting players.
Connecting to your server
In the Hytale client:
- Open Multiplayer → Add server.
- Enter the connection address from your Game Panel dashboard (e.g.
play.pulsarsrv.com:25612). - Hit Join.
Want a cleaner address like myserver.pulsarsrv.com? See Custom subdomains.
If your friends connect from another continent and the ping feels rough, your datacenter pick was probably wrong. Open a ticket and we'll migrate you to a closer node free of charge.
Next steps
Once you're up:
- Tune the game and worldgen settings via Config files reference.
- Set up scheduled restarts to free RAM nightly — see Schedules.
- Add moderators with subusers rather than handing out passwords.
- Pin a daily auto-backup so nothing gets griefed permanently.
Questions? Open a ticket or hop into our Discord — staff and other server admins are there 24/7.
